Stepping Up For Lorrimer
For the 9th consecutive May, Fyke will be sponsoring the Celery Farm Big Day, also known as Stepping Up for Lorrimer. Once again, David Kaplan and Jody Schleicher will be birding every square inch of the Celery Farm, from before dawn to dusk, trying to log as many species as possible with the goal of raising money for New Jersey Audubon's Lorrimer Sanctuary in Franklin Lakes.
Last year, 70 species were tallied and we were able to send $1225.00 to Lorrimer. The main focus of the day is to see the birds in order to raise money. People have historically pledged anywhere from a dime to two dollars per bird and all of the collected money goes directly to Lorrimer. Please consider supporting this important and worthy cause again. (For those who are interested, the record number of birds seen on this count is 80.) This year's date is May 11.

YES! I want to support Jody and David on May 11 by making a pledge to help Lorrimer Sanctuary. I understand they may record 60-80 species, although the total could be higher if conditions are ideal. E.g. 66 species recorded X "your pledge" (say $0.50) = $33.00.
My pledge is:
_ $1/species _ $.75/species _ $.50/species _ $.25/species _ $ /species
